CANAMET to conduct feasibility study for the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command.

TORONTO, July 29, 2005
CANAMET has been awarded a contract (N00244-05-P-2328, effective July 29, 2005) by the Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (a contracting Agency of the US-Government) to conduct a feasibility study "on the development of a light-weight portable non-invasive vital signs monitoring system with wireless communication capabilities" for the Marine Corps Systems Command. This feasibility study will lead to the development of a system that will be capable of providing advanced information from multiple casualties, in complex situations, to medics in fields of operations with the aim:
  • To manage mass casualty and reduce mortality by providing rapid triage, facilitating early treatment and prioritizing medical evacuation
  • To continuously monitor physiological risk factors and diagnose injury status of casualties through enhanced medical diagnostic, triage and wireless communication capability applicable for MED-EVACED by an aircraft
