Canada's CANAMET Blood Pressure Device Reaches Taiwanese Market
TORONTO, July 13, 2004 |
CANAMET’s Blood Pressure Product applies, for the first time, the Adaptive Noise
Cancellation Technology in Blood Pressure Measurement with an error of less than
3% compared to Mercury Blood Pressure Device
Canamet Canadian National Medical Technologies Inc. (CANAMET) and China Century
Financial Management Consulting Corp. held a product launch for “CANAMET’s
Automated Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Device” yesterday (12th of July
2004) at the Grand Hotel in Taiwan. Dr. Stergios, the inventor, was here to
introduce the product technology and its functions. Representatives from most
hospitals and clinics as well as medical device industries attended this
meeting.
CANAMET’s Automated Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Device is an innovative
medical device that utilizes, for the first time, the adaptive noise
cancellation technology to eliminate intense noise effects and minimize the
impact of vibrations during the process of measuring a patient’s blood pressure
and heart rate. It is currently being evaluated by the Canadian Air Forces, and
there is also interest from the US Forces as they wish to evaluate it in their
noise intensive search and rescue operations which involve helicopters. There is
a possibility of the device being used in a NASA mission.
According to the clinical test results carried out by the Hospital of the
University of Western Ontario, the percentage error between the measurement
results given by the CANAMET Automated Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
Device and the conventional mercury blood pressure unit is kept within 3%. Its
accuracy enables it to effectively substitute a mercury based blood pressure
unit.
