CANAMET Inc., a new Canadian medical technology
start-up nurtured at Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) has
received 510K marketing clearance for its first product, the PIESOMETER MK-1
automated ambulatory blood pressure system. In fact, Canamet has sold 400
blood pressure systems in its first order to distributors in Taiwan
(220-units) and China (200-units), with total revenue of US$255,000.

PIESOMETER MK-1, a lifesaving device for use on the battlefield, ambulances
and remote communities. They will also show case other technologies in their
R&D pipeline aimed at disease prevention.

Canada's public health care system to deliver state-of-the-art treatment, to
all communities, cost effectively.
